Fort Gibson Tour

You can't talk about western history without including the old Ft. Gibson and the old town that grew around it. Ft. Gibson was established by the Seventh U.S. Infantry under the command of Colonel Arbuckle on April 21, 1824. Its colorful history is included in our Ft. Gibson Tour.  Trolleys will leave Three Rivers Museum at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 21st and the costumed guides will share the stories of the settlement of the area as we travel to Ft. Gibson.  At the fort, Omar Reed will provide us with a tour of the fort as he re-enacts the life of a Buffalo Soldier.  The tour includes other sites in the town as well as the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery and the Cherokee National Cemetery.
Register early as seating for the tour is limited and seats will be available on a first come, first served basis. This event is not appropriate for small children.  See the registration form for tickets or call 918-686-6624.
